Athletics Victoria is a non-profit competitive Track and Field Club in Victoria, BC, Canada. We offer training programs and competitive opportunities for ages 9 to 90, across several training groups.
Athletics Victoria was established in 2018 from the amalgamation of two long standing track and field clubs – Pacific Athletics and Victoria Track and Field Clubs. With roots back to 1966, the two clubs trained thousands of athletes over the decades and had athletes compete provincially, nationally and internationally, providing Team Canada members for events such as the Pan American, Commonwealth and Olympic Games. Club athletes have been champions and medalists at provincial and Canadian championships.
Athletics Victoria carries on this legacy by being the only club in the Greater Victoria area offering training and coaching in all track and field events.
Athletics Victoria embraces the principles and model of Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) recommended by Athletics Canada and governmental sports ministers provincially and federally. The LTAD sets the stage for optimal training, competition and life long health and wellbeing. We believe that using the model and its practices in a sound, logical manner is more likely to produce athletes who reach their full athletic and lifetime potential.
We are a member of the Vancouver Island Athletics Association. The VIAA is made up of many of the competitive track and field clubs in Zone 6 ~ Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands and Powell River. All member clubs provide volunteer assistance and officials at the track and field meets in the annual VIAA Track and Field Series.
Athletics Victoria is an affiliated club with BC Athletics.
We acknowledge the financial assistance of the Province of British Columbia Community Gaming Grants for partial financial support of our club.
